The rumours were true.
The Estarli E-cargo Longtail 2.0 has officially landed — and it’s our biggest Longtail update yet.
The original Longtail quickly became one of the UK’s most talked-about family e-cargo bikes, picking up award nominations, glowing reviews and a growing community of riders using it for everything from school runs to replacing second cars entirely.
But we knew there was more to do.
Over the last two years we’ve listened closely to retailers, families and riders across the UK — and the result is a more capable, more refined and more versatile Longtail than ever before.
The headline upgrade? A huge 250kg max. load capacity.
That means the Longtail 2.0 is now better equipped than ever for carrying kids, shopping, gear, pets and just about anything else everyday life throws at it.
We’ve also introduced a redesigned lower-step frame to make hopping on and off easier when juggling family life, loading cargo or navigating busy stop-start journeys.
And beyond the big upgrades, there are dozens of smaller refinements that make a real difference day to day:
- new edge-to-edge display
- upgraded front suspension fork
- gloss scratch-resistant paintwork
- easier battery access with optional 820Wh long-range battery
- optional Dutch-style handlebars for a more relaxed riding position
- improved stand stability for loading kids and cargo
- updated Enviolo drivetrain components for improved durability and ride feel
We’re also expanding the Longtail beyond family transport with new utility-focused accessories including collapsible pannier bags and the upcoming Utility Basket — perfect for shopping, dogs and everyday hauling duties once the school run is done.
And perhaps the best bit?
Despite all the upgrades, the base build price still remains under £3,000.
